Dear Members
As we are heading into April a lot of EAWOP activities approaches. We have a call for applications for two small group meetings (SGM) and one more is under development. The first SGM will take part in June (Paris Lodron University in Salzburg). This SGM has the theme: Fostering Health, Satisfaction, Productivity and Students ‘Self in the Early Careers. The second announced SGM will be held in October at University of Trento in Rovereto, Italy. This SGM covers issues related to neurodiversity at work. See details of deadlines in the newsletter.
We are also in full preparation of the EAWOP Summer School that this year will hold in September in Bologna. This year’s summer school is for the first time planned together with the Academy of Management.
Except preparations for next year’s congress in Lyon, France are we planning several worklabs and webinars.

EAWOP Small Group Meeting
Thematic Small Group Meeting: Fostering Health, Satisfaction, Productivity, and Students’ Self in the Early Careers of Students

WORKLAB
The next WorkLab residential workshop will take place 5-7th November. The topic is AI in Assessment and we have 3 exciting speakers who have a range of experience researching, building and implementing AI based assessments. Details to follow.

Special issue examining Chronic illness in Organizational Contexts
The special issue editors welcome paper sexamining chronic illness at individual, interpersonal, organisational, and institutional levens. Potential themes include disclouse and identity management across career stages, organisational responses including accommodation policies and return-to-work processes, the implications of the changing work arrangements and technology (remote work, algorighmic management, AI, platform work), manegerial responses and training needs, career trajectories and sustainability, intersectionality with gener, race, class and age, psychological dynamics including psychological contracts and trust, and instituional perspectives such as legal frameworks and cross-national comparisions.

Submission Process and Timeline
This special issue will follow a two-stage submission process, in line with the European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology’s editorial procedures.
Stage 1: Abstract Submission
Interested authors are invited to submit a letter of intent and extended abstract to the Lead Guest Editor: Dr. Rita Rueff-Lopes: rita.rueff@esade.edu
Abstract submissions (due 31 May 2026) must include:
- A working title for the manuscript
- Names, affiliations, and contact information for all authors
- An abstract of no more than 500 wordsoutlining the purpose, theoretical contribution, methodology (if applicable), and relevance of the proposed manuscript

- Abstract submission deadline: 31 May 2026
- Decision on abstracts: 30 June 2026
- Full paper submission deadline: 31 October 2026
- Review Round 1 completed: 31 January 2027
- First decision communicated: 15 February 2027

“Inconsistency, Ambivalence, and Ambiguity: Advancing the Understanding, Antecedents, and Outcomes of the ‘Gray Side of Organizations’”.
