Constituent Members
EAWOP Constituents are groups or associations of Work and Organizational Psychologists—or sections of such associations—that are either scientific or practitioner-focused. They hold membership with EAWOP and actively participate in its governance while supporting its mission within their country of origin.
A country can have one or multiple Constituents, depending on the interests they represent. For instance, in countries with distinct groups for academic/research psychologists and practitioner psychologists, both groups can hold Constituent membership in EAWOP.
Being a Constituent member means that the association:
- Is part of an important network of Work and Organizational Psychologists;
- Can nominate one member to participate in the General Assembly meeting with voting rights;
- Has the opportunity to contribute to and debate WOP-related issues with other associations regularly, during the annual Constituents Council meeting and other initiatives;
- Can host an EAWOP congress;
- Can apply for initiatives and grants specifically dedicated to EAWOP Constituents
- Plays a vital role in the work of EAWOP through governance and contribution to various task force activities;
- Has access to a world-wide network of WOPs through the Alliance for Organisational Psychology
Associate Constituents
Associate Constituents are scientific and/or professional associations or organizations who have a mission to promote Work and Organizational Psychology in alignment and are located outside Europe.
As with Constituents, members of associate constituents should have obtained their university degrees in psychology and or equivalents and the Associate Constituent is prepared to render services to the Members of the Association.
Constituent or Associate Constituent Representative
A Constituent and Associate Constituent appoints one of its members to act as its Representative. The Representative represents the (Associate) Constituent and exercises the membership rights on behalf of the (Associate) Constituent.
Constituent Council
Once a year, the Executive Committee and the Constituent Council meet to report on the activities of the current year, discuss the results achieved and collect proposals for the future of the association.
The meeting takes place annually in May at the Congress location (both in the year of the Congress and the preceding year). It is typically held as a hybrid event, allowing all Constituent representatives to attend according to their availability.
