 Purpose and Main Duties

The School of Business, Economics and Informatics brings together the College’s business-facing activities, teaching around 5000 students in its four departments. The Department of Organizational Psychology combines research and education in Organizational Psychology, Leadership and in Human Resource Development/Management.


Candidate Requirements


We are looking to appoint a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader or Chair in Organizational Psychology and/ or Human Resource Management. You are a committed educator with proven teaching capabilities who will embrace Birkbeck’s commitment to access and opportunity in higher education in a research-intensive environment through evening teaching and flexible, innovative provision. The role will offer you opportunities to have strategic input into our existing programmes, as well as harnessing new opportunities.


You have a PhD in Organizational Psychology or Human Resource Management demonstrating expertise in the field. You are pursuing a vibrant research programme, and will be making an active contribution to our research groups with particular focus on impact into organizational practice. Your strong research trajectory means that you are well positioned for a successful return under REF2021. Collaboration is important to you, both within and across disciplines, as well as the fostering of national and international networks. You are, or have potential as, an effective leader and are committed to mentorship of others and are excited about taking on supervision duties for MPhil/ PhD candidates. You will make a strong contribution to the success of our institution through your membership and participation in committees and other activities.
