Tenure Track Associate Professor Organization Studies; Change Management (214394) Organisation

The University of Groningen, The Netherlands, seeks to fill an Associate Professor Organization Studies in particular Change Management (0.8-1.0 fte) at the department of Innovation Management & Strategy. The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) is a research focused, international Faculty which consistently ranks highly in international business rankings. The mission of the Faculty of Economics and Business is to prepare students for a career in research or a leading position in the corporate or public sector through high quality, research based degree programmes in the fields of economics and business; to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in these fields by conducting high quality research; and to provide a stimulating and international environment for both staff and students.
The Innovation Management & Strategy department (http://www.rug.nl/feb/organization/scientific-departments/ims/) contributes to several degree programmes at the Bachelor and Master level, to the research master and to the PhD training programme of the research school SOM. The department offers three Master of Science programs - in Strategy & Innovation, in Small Business & Entrepreneurship, and in Change Management. Research of the department staff is part of the research programme Innovation & Organisation. The department covers a variety of interests and backgrounds, and embraces a number of different research approaches and methods with a keen focus on quality in research and teaching. Areas of research at the department include innovation, strategy, information systems & organization theory, and entrepreneurship. We focus on applied as well as fundamental research questions. The vacant position, with a strong focus on research in a highly regarded and productive research group, ensures access to good facilities for research as well as an internationally oriented academic environment.

Job description
We would like to welcome a new colleague in the team of researchers that is working on organization theory, change management and management of information systems. We are looking for candidates who are actively interested and engaged in doing research on organizational change and development and in publishing their work in highly recognized, international journals in the field. Furthermore, candidates for the position are enthousiastic about creating a stimulating, research-driven and inspiring learning environment especially for students in the master specialization Change Management.
The colleague we are looking for will contribute to the following task domains:
• research on topics and themes in the fields of Change Management and Organization Development, possibly combined with Project Management or Organization Theory
• developing and teaching courses in the faculty's Bachelor and Master programmes with a focus on the MSc BA track Change Management
• supervision of PhD students
• acquisition of externally funded research projects
• miscellaneous managerial responsibilities.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position, the candidate should have:
• a PhD in a relevant field (Organization Studies, Business Administration, or related social sciences like Sociology or Psychology)
• excellent publication record in high quality journals in the field
• having obtained research grants
• excellent teaching skills, experience in curriculum development and in mentoring students
• excellent international network in academia and the industry
• demonstrated academic management qualities.

Conditions of employment
The University of Groningen offers a salary depending on qualifications and work experience from € 4,517 (salary scale 13 Dutch Universities) to a maximum of € 6,039 (scale 14) gross per month. Next to twelve monthly salaries, we offer an 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus, both as a percentage of the gross year salary. There is participation in our pension scheme. Favourable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants. The conditions of employment comply with the Collective Labour Agreement for the University of Groningen. This position is temporary for a maximum of six years with the perspective on a tenured position when you meet our Tenure track criteria for Associate Professor. The preferable start date is 1 September 2015. Another start date may be arranged by agreement.
